  1964 Town Wagon 6/24/2001

It's official, My TW's For Sale Here is the scoop, $1,600.00 - 64 D100 Town Wagon. Originally Omaha orange. Now 2 tone outside... red primer with creme top. (hey it needs paint!) - Slant 6 with 18,500mi. since a new short block, valve job, water and oil pump. New engine in 1983. I replaced a couple of push rods and after a tune-up it runs very well with no visible smoke on start up or cruising. I've replaced all hoses and the fan belt. New antifreeze, oil and tail pipe. - Passed Emissions very well. Indications of a tight engine. - NP435 4spd - Rear end is a Chrysler RA-36 3.9:1 ratio - Same bell housing as the 318, so easy V8 swap. - I have the reciets of the previous ower and it seems well maintatined. - I rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder. - Replaced the fuel tank with a townie tank as the original was full of black sludge. - Wheel bearings packed and replaced and new tie rod ends and drag link in 1984 with 11,500mi on this work. Seems fine. - Tires are fair, decent spare. 3 original hubcap wheels. Only 1 beat hubcap - Brakes work fine - New throw out bearing in 1984 with 10,300mi on this work. - All electrical works except fuel and temp gauges. The turn signals even turn themselves off and the horn works! Speedo works. Heater works. - Front fenders have the usual rust by the front doors but not bad. - Rear fenders have the usual rust and a couple of dents. - Floors in front are good with minor rust and a few holes. - Rear floor is one of the best I've seen. Most of the rubber is intact. - The hood is dented in but perhaps salvagable. I know of 4 good hoods - Rear doors are good with minor rust. - Front door latches need to be rebuilt. - Original split bench front seat. - Drive it home. - Originally purchased in Missoula Montana in 1967 (?) spent its life there and in CO I'll have some more photos soon, Gary 303 447 3468 robertsondesign@earthlink.net

1958 DODGE POWER WAGON, rare window PANEL TRUCK model, only 650 made > >this year, heavy duty 1ton Chassis, > > never wrecked, 4x4 drive needs, restored, street rod, > >monster TRUCK, or whatever, $2300, Leesburg, Ocala area > > 352-748-7746.

Here is some info from a TW list member who went to look at the truck.

I went to look at this truck today. It's not as bad as mine was when I bought it, but I didn't know as much then. It looks to be a '65 or '66, as the steering is behind the axle and the frame is wide in front. There is no winch or PTO. It's been painted ( originally it was red) and has some bondo especially around the headlights and upper rear part of front fenders. It has a LA-318 which is supposedly frozen, and the wrong radiator. Other than that, it appears original. The drivers seat and jump seat have been reupholstered and look good. There are no rear seats. The transfer case, which appears to be a 201, is in the back, missing linkages. The glass all looks good except for the windshield. The dash, gauges and switches are all there and just need cleaning up. The steering wheel has some cracking. The headliner is completely missing. The front axle looks good, but does not have lockouts. The rear bumper is gone, but it has a very substantial looking 6" pipe bumper. The frame looks good. My major concern would be that the body is very rusty in the back. The sides and the floor have almost separated and the doors don't close right (worse than usual!) The rear floor is rusted out about 50% overall. It has many good points, however. I'll rate the normal problem areas from 1 to 5 with 1 being junkyard and 5 being Roger's truck. cab mounts 2 - structure is OK but the floor is bad inside steps 4 - drivers side 20% gone, passenger side near mint rear doors left 2, right 4 - the bottom of the left rear door is virtually gone. The right one is good except that the latch pulled out. drip moldings 5 top to side seam 4 - some surface rust on outside. Inside rusty but seems sound, no visible holes. rear wheel openings 4 - some rust through, maybe 10% overall (they may have some bondo) front doors 1 - both are very rusty, need to be replaced and star wheel on drivers latch doesn't work sliding window framework 4 - some rust but basically sound windshield 1 - very cloudy and virtually unuseable (last time I checked you can still buy them new) lower grille bar 5 - almost perfect grille "mouth" 3 - about 30% rusted through. The owner has other trucks but doesn't seem to know much about this one. He seems to be willing to negotiate............. BG

I don't think there was ever a winch. There is no cable or hole in the dash. Sorry, out of everything I looked at, I forgot to write down the data plate info. The owner wasn't there when I looked at the truck, so I didn't get a chance to ask about the T-case. It does have a drive shaft going directly from the tranny to the rear axle.

1965 TW F/S I hate to do it, but I need to sell my Town Wagon. I just don't have the time to play with it, and hate to see it sitting in my garage unused. It's white (I think it used to be blue per the inside metal) and was supposedly a Forest Service truck. No middle row of seats. Not bad condition, rust spots could be fixed (some were before with fiberglass). Runs great with a (again, supposedly) 1972 318 motor and has a new starter. Gearing is very low - redline in fourth gear was at about 50 miles an hour. 4 speed on the floor shifter. Please e-mail me off group if you have an interest. I'm in Fort Collins, CO. $2000 obo. Thanks very much! Sean Dougherty

1410065407 Miles · 6 - Cyl. · 2 doors · Manual transmission · Used · Clear title · Green Exterior - Brown Interior · VIN: 1161207756 Located in Buhl, Idaho

This panel is in good running condition but needs brakes. It is complete, the trim that is missing is inside the panel; it was removed to be painted. There is a little rust above each headlight. The seats are not original; the drivers side has an electric seat. The original rearend has been replaced with a newer, high geared rearend. The engine is a slant 6. Had driven this as a daily driver for many years. If you have further questions please feel free to Email me at madoty@micron.net

1962 Power Wagon Town Wagon March 21 2001

1963 Dodge Power Wagon VIN # 2181225831 318 Industrial Engine, 4 speed, less than 100K original miles. Van style, front bench seat, rear barn doors. Body in great condition, needs paint. Driven regularly up to 1 year ago, since then stored inside. I don't have the time to spend that this vehicle deserves. Located in Medford, OR

Owner ended auction early, he felt the reserve was to low. This truck is a 62 by the VIN number, the title must be wrong.

Some info from a person who talked to the seller:

The seller says he's owned this truck for 24 years, yet doesn't know much about it.... I got the feeling he didn't want to share too much about specific info and I really had to "pull" stuff out of him. He told me he thought it was a "power wagon station wagon".... the Town Wagon emblems are missing. there is rust in the pass side floor pan, that probably means cab mounts too. some rust in rear wheel wells, but not too bad by looks of pics. says it has about half a dozen rust spots through out truck. has an m-37 front bumper and extensions, no winch. Says it was originally an Air Force truck. Truck is not running right now. has a funky and really ugly vinyl head liner with same stuff made into door panels. uses a pair of vice grips for window handle. both driver & pass doors need glass. don't know about the industrial engine, he says 75 mph on freeway which probably means 4.10's, he didn't know. front seat only. has a couple long creases on pass side in rear qtr and both front fenders have been cut out for tire clearance as is visible in pics on ebay. he also sent me 4 or 5 pics which are huge files, I'll try to size them down and forward on. he wants $5000 or so for the truck, but says his wife set reserve at $3500. This truck may be worth the reserve, but not much more in my mind. Nice thing is that it's basically stock and not a terrific amount of body work, but you never know without looking at it. I'm a pretty trusting guy, but this fella didn't give me a really good honest feeling about his description.... maybe not a problem with this truck. The truck is located in Medford, Or. The seller's name is Ken Kreiser 541-899-9608. All you gotta do is click on contact seller and fill out the info. This guy called me within 10 minutes of getting my e-mail.

SOLD! 1966 Power Wagon Town Wagon March 11 2001

Sale = 1966 Dodge Town Wagon: Original service life was as a Niagra Mohawk Power truck in NY. All the glass is there except for the drivers window. body is in rough shape. I consider the doors junk. The rear/top of front fenders are rotted though the fender flares are in great shape and could be grafted onto another set. rear doors in ok shape and the hood/roof are in excellent shape. The truck has many of the original interior panels which are in ok shape. Original gauges are there and they all worked. Most of the brake lines are new, the brake master cylinder has been rebuilt and I have four new wheel cylinders in boxes. Tranny/t-box/axles are all in working condition. Truck has a poly 318 V-8 that has two burnt exhaust valves. it ran (though poorly) when I parked it, no guarantee's now however. There is a factory (I believe) PTO winch mounted in front which worked wonderfully, especially coupled with the granny low first gear. (tranny is a 4 speed manual) Overall a repairable truck though would serve just as well as a parts truck. Price is $850 or bottom offer. contact me at swamper8@quik.com or call 978-927-0039 and ask for Steve. filter = Email = swamper8@quik.com

I have parted out a 64 town wagon, am giving away what's left. body, chassis with 16" wheels and (bald) tires, has sure grip rear end, 318, 4 speed. tranny and drive shaft are detached and inside truck. does not have front fenders or rear doors or driver's door. no windows, no seats, no gas tank, no instrument cluster, many other small parts removed. does have hood. very little rust. truck is in albuquerque new mexico. email for details. free, but you must haul it away. i could sell more parts, but then i'd have to pay to have it hauled away and crushed. take this truck or i'll crush it!

Owners desciption of the rust on this truck: The rear fender lips are indeed rusted out. that is the worst rust, the other area that is poor is around the front body mounts, where mud gets stuck underneath.
