I believe the first owner was the U.S. Bureau of Mines, in Laramie, WY There is a small plate on the right door post as indication. The story is that it was stored during the winters, which is reasonable. At some point in the 70s, I believe, it was brought to Arizona and driven until '83, at which point it was put in storage. It was then sold, but was kept in a garage, basically untouched, for roughly another 15 years until I purchased it last December. There had been numerous generations of mice living in it, so we had to shovel the poop out of the bed, enough to fill a small garbage can. All rubber needed replacing and the engine, transmission and rear end needed new gaskets and seals. The best part, though, was that it had been stored for so long, during its lifetime, that rust is not a big issue. It was virtually complete and in original condition, though sorely in need of TLC.
