The truck is located in a junkyard in southern Wisconsin. It has been spared all these years as it is hard to get to and crush. The yard owner was surprised he still had it as he thought he had crushed it years ago. Both tags on the passenger side door jamb were missing so the frame number was used to identify the truck. Using the frame number, 2 speed rear axle details, and the wheel base of 136 inches the two options for the model were WGA-40 and WHA-45. I chose the WHA-45, but it might be a WGA-40.
This truck had a dump bed on it and it was a complete blackout truck. Note the blackout sun visor bracket, painted trim, and blackout style door handles. It was painted the same maroon color I see on a lot of blackout trucks. The dash was partial waterfall. I have yet to see a full waterfall 1944-45 truck. The engine was a C38 out of a 1946-1948 Chrysler car.
There appears to have been two sets of lettering on the drivers door. There is the name Fred Zweifel in black. Under that black paint is the lettering LEO HERBRAND WAUNAKEE LC. I can't see anything after the LC, but there would have typically been something after the LC.
At some point this truck suffered extensive damage. The roof is smashed down. The passenger door is twisted and inside the cab. The passengers side fender is missing. The hood is loose and bent. The cab is rusted out and bent in several directions. The grill is smashed in.
