| Hydraulic dump stake bed, pump driven from PTO. Engine carried an odd serial # that didn't jive with the normal truck sequence, or anything else for that matter. Likely a re-manufactured unit. Did have a "SPITFIRE" head and was likely a Chrysler power plant. Gear box was an early Warner T98 with a Chelsea/Dana PTO and was too high geared for this setup. Engine, though supposedly rebuilt, was tired and has been replaced with a Detroit 4-53T with an Eaton/Fuller RTO-910 Roadranger tranny. For better access, alterations have been made and the truck is now a tilt cab. Four years of work have gone into the vehicle and it is now mechanically complete, running and on the street. It might be a while before it gets a fresh paint job. |
| Acquired at end of Nov. 2010. Previously cleaned up & painted (not full restoration) first time(?) around 1995. Set outside since, occasionally paraded until around early 2000's. Unused since. Rust free and straight! Newer wood stakes were let go and weathered, so eventually will be redone. Built in and always in CA. Unknown owners. |
