This truck was found in a salvage yard in Waco, Texas in April 2000. The yard owner stated the truck had been sold to a guy in Florida, end of story...fast forward to July 2008, when the truck shows up at the front of the same salvage yard. The yard owner wanted twice its weight scrap metal, then was reminded of the Florida story from 8 years earlier, then sold it to me for a fraction of his asking price. When loading it on my trailer, the forklift operator dumped the carcass onto my trailer, where the passenger door flopped open, getting seriously tweaked when it slammed to the trailer rail. Most of the sheet metal is usable, but the frame was butchered when removing the axles by the salvage owner years ago.
