I am the fourth owner of the truck. The original owner had a body shop and converted the truck to a wrecker. He kept the truck until 1984 and sold it to the second owner who put it in a barn for over 20 years. The third owner bought it and kept it for a few years intending to restore it. For what ever reason, he gave up on the restoration and sold it to me over a year ago. I intend to make a total restoration.
I started the project during the summer of 2010. At this point (summer of 2011) I am at the rolling chassis stage. I have restored several Massey Harris antique tractors and my son's 1949 Jeep. Despite my previous projects, I think I am in over my head with this restoration. However, I said that in the past as well. Nevertheless, I am having a ball with it (most days) and will stay with it. The Dodge Forum and many of its members have been VERY helpful to me thus far in the project.
