As far as I can tell, the truck was manufactured in San Leandro Ca. and was owned by a Contractor in Sacramento Ca. (who I bought it from), a Locksmith in Fair Oaks Ca., a painter, and a guy who did flea markets somewhere around Modesto.
My grandfather had two Dodge Panel Trucks (a 51 & 52) for his linoleum business and I wanted to be able to find an identical match to the 1952 my grandfather drove. After searching for three years I found one for sale in 2005 in Sacramento Ca..
I purchased the panel in the fall of 2005 and had the restoration done in 2007 by Lafayette Auto Body & Paint. She was running but was in poor condition in terms of body and paint. I uses the truck to promote my family's 3rd generation floor covering business and drive it to estimates and job-sites as often as I can.
She's been entered into quite a few local GoodGuys Car Show out of Pleasanton Ca., where she has been recognized a number of times and has received award recognition for "Best Commercial Truck", "Best Mopar", and "GoodGuys Fuel Curve Award" in addition she has had recognition at other local car show events over the years.
She's a real head-turner and gets smiles and thumbs up everywhere she goes.
