It looks pretty rough but is actually in good shape. I will share with
you as much as I know about this truck. It was originally purchased by
a volunteer fire company in Pa. rigged as a brush fire truck. It was then
sold to a private individual. I think it was primarily used for hauling
firewood. About a year ago my brother was working at a salvage yard when
one of the wreckers brought this truck in. They hauled it straight back
to the crusher. Lucky for me, my brother saw in time to stop them from
crushing it and he bought it for $100. The next morning my father dragged
it to his home. I just happened to be there (I'm in the Air Force stationed
in Ca.) to see this awesome truck. For quite a few months before this,
I had been telling my dad I wanted a PG W series truck. When I saw it
I told him I had to have it. Lucky for me, my brother is always ready
to wheel and deal. Well I did some wheeling and dealing and I got it.
However, it is still in Pa. and I'm still in Ca. Makes it kinda hard for
me to do anything with it. Hopefully I will be moving closer in the near
future so I can get done to it what I want to do. Specs.: It currently
has a 251 flathead with a four speed. Approx. 38,000 original miles on
the truck. It came with a winch bumper but no winch. It has no bed (it
had a dilapidated wooden bed when we got it.) Plans for it: My dad has
a 354 Hemi(out of a '57 bus) I want to put in it. I have one of my brother's
friends lined up to do the body work and paint it. I want to find a stake
bed like the one on Don Evans' '58 W200 and put on it. Also, I'd like
to put the fuel tank inside the frame rail and take the one out from behind
the seat. Another thing I'd like to do is put a 40/20/40 seat out of a
newer Ram in it as I plan on using this truck as a daily driver.
