| Original U.S. Navy truck, out of either Naval Air Station North Island, or Naval Amphibious Base, San Diego area. Surplused to a local school district for maintenance truck. Bought at school auction in 1980s by Vic; sold to Skip Skibbe at Triple S Stables; Skibbe removed original engine, saved it, installed 1965 Plymouth 318 V-8. Still have both engines. I purchased it in 2001 for work truck. Now in process of restoration, very much rusted inside and outside the cab. Winch is original and still good, PTO is good. Has all original frame, drive systems, fuel tank, wheels, although right now I am running 16" rims on it. One of 262 built. |
