My Grandfather bought it brand new in 1957 as a cab and chassis so to put a fuel and oil distributing bed (tank for gas and diesel delivery) on it. My father drove it hauling fuel to his fathers fleet of Deeprock and Fina stations back when it was new and my father was 18 years old, and it was used to deliver oil, gas and diesel and greases to farms and drilling rigs all over the panhandle of Texas. My grandfathers business Long's Oil Co. was based in Pampa,Texas. I was told when it was retired to our farm in 1969 it had around 400,000 + miles on it.
