I'm not sure on the history of this truck. It was given to me by a family friend who was moving out of state. According to the story I got, she had used this truck for parts to restore another one. A lot is missing from this truck as a result. I have slowly been gathering parts from various different places. So far I have found, exterior door handles, dome light, door latches, an LU2 winch with frame extensions from a 68 power wagon, oil bath air cleaner, carburetors (I currently have three of the correct model number of Stromberg WW carbs), ignition switch and lock cylinder, tail light brackets, more wheels for spares (I only had the four wheels), service manuals, and a parts book. I still need, a PTO for the winch, front and rear bumpers, grille guard, roof mounted radio and antenna, tail lights, and gas tank. I am probably going to fabricate some of the stuff like the gas tank and grille guard and possibly bumpers. Those are very low on my list. I can use almost anything for tail lights as well. So the last two big things on my list are PTO and radio.
I plan on restoring this truck but I will also be adding a few custom things. I want to add an overdrive but I have been toying with the idea of installing a Spicer 5831 brownie box instead as this will give all sorts of gearing options. I would like to install a gooseneck hitch and air conditioning too. Some people might say that I live in Alaska so why would I need A/C? I'm a lifelong Alaskan and 70+ temps in the middle of summer are too much for me to take.
The engine is locked up but the truck sat for an untold number of years with no carb on it. I am hopeful that I can get it freed up and nothing is damaged. It will get rebuilt when the time comes. I will also install a Delta Mark Ten electronic ignition box.
If you have a line on any parts or are in my area and wish to contact me, send me an email via the "contact owner" link at the bottom of the information column.
