1958 W100 Black in TX |
The top picture of this 58 W100 shows the truck as it was in the early 1980's, since then the truck has been put onto a later Chevy drivetrain and that is what the lower pictures show. His M-37 is shown at the bottom of the page. Here is what he had to say about his truck: I had a 58 W100 that was all stock, that I bought back in 1980. It had a V8 (315 I think) long bed. I tried to get the motor rebuild for it smoked real bad, but the guy I took it to screwed it up and know one knew any thing about it Remember this was before the Internet, so must have the info. I was getting was just around town and local area. Even Dodge dealer were no help. So about 1985 I put a Chevy.327 With auto.trans. I ran this for while, then the drive train was going south and the 327. So in 1991 I did something that bad real bad. I found a 1974 GMC 1/2 ton 4x4. Yes, I did, I put the 58 body on the GMC frame. Had to add 7" to the bed front end to get the wheel base to look right. This made a good looking truck. Then in 1998 I got online, the first thing I looked for was Power Wagon. I could not believe all the links about power wagons. I was sick! I still have the truck and it still looks good but it's just not right. I also have a 53 M37 that is stock and looking for a WDX or WM300. Any why I'll send some pic. to ya. Thanks for this site! "keep'm Rolling" |
